Just Do It

This is for the woman who thinks she's not quite good enough. Not quite smart enough. Not quite old (or young) enough. Not quite pretty enough. Not quite strong enough. Not quite developed enough. Or just down right not quite capable enough.

It's for the woman who sometimes chooses doubt and fear over faith. It's for the woman who would rather relax in her comfort zone instead of fearlessly dancing into the unknown. It's for the woman who has a desire for more, but just doesn't have the guts to go out and grab it.  This one is for you...

It's so easy for some of us as women to underestimate ourselves. We think we have to have it all together in order for us to make moves in our lives. We think all our ducks have to be in a row and all the details worked out in order for us to take that next step. But truth be told, we don't have to have all the answers in order for us to do what God may be calling us to do. In fact, we WON'T always have all the answers. We won't always know what's on the other side of that door...until we walk through it.

The great Nelson Mandela once said "It always seems impossible until it's done". Ironically, during this season of my life God has been revealing to me so much truth in that statement. Stuff that I have put off for months and even years is now starting to come to fruition. Not because someone handed it to me, but simply because I'm choosing to let go of that negative mindset that constantly says "I can't" and walk in the confidence of knowing I CAN do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

Maybe you too have found yourself in a similar situation. Maybe you think your dreams and goals are are a little too far fetched and unattainable. Well I'm here to tell you not to believe in those lies.

For years I listened to those around me attempt to motivate me to accomplish this and that, but rather than accept it, I would downplay my own capabilities and instantly respond with a rebuttal. "But I...", "What if I just...". So I'll be the first to admit that sometimes, it is hard to see what others see in you. Sometimes you can do yourself more harm than good. And sometimes, you can just down right be your own worst critic.

I'm still a work in progress, but I'm thankful for God growing me in that area of my life. One thing I do know is that if you always wait until you're strong enough, wealthy enough, smart enough or "capable" enough you will never be ready. That is why God doesn't call the equipped, but rather, He equips the called. Once you take that first step, He will meet you exactly where you're at and supply every single need that you may have. I know because He did it for me. Every excuse, every bit of hesitation, He is slowly but surely taking away and replacing it with joy and confidence.

It may take you losing some friends or maybe even family members, it may take you hitting rock bottom; but whatever it takes for you to reach that point of desiring change will be worth it in the end. Exceeding joy, growth and all of the blessings that God has lined up for you may just be right on the other side of your obedience. So ask yourself: if not now, when?

The time is always now to do what you should have done weeks, months or even years ago. As hard as it may be, as uncertain as you may feel, sometimes you just have to put on your big girl pants and get out there and just do it! The journey may not always be easy, but trust me sis, it is so so worth it.
