Time's Up!

Y'all, my favorite season is here!! 🍁🍂

Trust Issues

Image
I know it's been a minute (a year and twenty days to be exact 😬) since my last blog post...but I'm back!

Can I testify!?

Image
I was taking a little social media break but I had to come off of it just to share this...I believe it's worth it.

Blessings In Unexpected Places

Image
This past weekend it snowed in parts of Texas. Shocker, I know. However, while some districts got enough snow to call off school today, mine did not. As it was falling down and sticking to absolutely nothing my mood began to shift from hopeful to unimpressed. Y'all, I was really rooting for us to get to work from home today! 😩 All my little dreams were crushed lol. Yet, even though my morning started off blah and forced the silver lining came once I finally got to the one place I didn't want to go today. . .

Put the Pedestal Down

Image
In a time where everyone is being reminded to wash their hands and stay at home. In a time where most of our social interactions are coming from online sources and Zoom. In a time where Instagram and Facebook have gotten more attention than ever before, can I just add one more thing to your list of reminders? Yes? Okay, here it is. . .

What If?

Image
In the midst of pandemics, social distancing and sheltering in place, I opened up my balcony door to get some fresh air. As I stood there soaking in every ounce of fresh air that I could, I noticed a hawk circling above the trees nearby. I watched how it effortlessly soared through the sky and thought - God, what could you possibly be trying to tell us during this time? After a moment of pondering and listening, I was left with " what if?" .

An Unexplainable Impact

January 26, 2020 - the world collectively joined in mourning as news rapidly spread of the passing of one of the NBA's most prominent forces, Kobe Bryant, his 13-year old daughter, Gianna, and seven others who were all tragically killed in a  helicopter crash  in California.

"OK, God! I See You!"

Image
Ya'll. Can I just share how God's been moving in my life lately? Warning: This message isn't for everyone, but that's okay, because it's for  someone . If that's you, stay with me or you just might get lost.

He's Still Moving

Image
This is for the person who's going through something right now that you don't think you'll ever come out of. For the person who wants to trust that God is moving in your life even though you can't feel Him. It's for the person who knows that God is still good even in the midst of the storm, but circumstances have caused you to doubt. It's for the person who could use just a little bit more encouragement to make it through another day. Can I encourage you, whoever and wherever you are? To know this. . .

To the person suffering...

I wrote a post a few weeks ago sharing that I am currently in the process of writing my third book. Ironically,  the chapter that I'm working on right now, God is actually taking me through as I write it. I am literally living out the chapter as we speak. Talk about being  a "living witness". 😅 It's strange and sometimes  often times hard, but I know that the end result will be well worth it.

I'm Expecting!

Guessssss what!? I'm expecting!!! But........it's not what you think. Let me explain...

Po' It Up

Image
Last week I decided to call someone close to me. I assumed it was going to be just a normal light-hearted conversation like always - lots of laughs and on the phone for way too long. Yet, as soon as I said hello

Beauty And The Past

While scrolling on instagram one day, I came across a quote by Morgan Harper Nichols that read:

Q & A: How I Self-Published Two Books

Image
Finally made up in your mind that you want to write your own book? Have your manuscript ready to go but just don't know where to start? Debating on whether to go the self-publishing or publishing company route? Then this one is for you.

Speak What You Seek

Happy New Year, ya'll! I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Christmas and New Years. Mine was spent relaxing and spending time with family (soaking up every minute of this two week break from work!). However, being three days into the new year I too have found myself doing a lot of reflecting over how I desire for my year to go. (Proverbs 16:9 😉) 2018 for me consisted mostly of me stepping outside of my comfort zone, a lot of self-growth, and just trying to be the best version of me that I can be. This year, one of my main desires is  that I will really begin to see answered prayers manifested in my life . And maybe, that's your desire too...

Joy Comes In The Mourning

Image
A few nights ago while praying for those who have recently lost loved ones, I found myself asking God to remind them that "weeping may endure for a night, but Joy comes in the morning". Before I could even finish uttering that sentence the Holy Spirit stopped me and whispered in my ear...

When God Makes You Wait

Image
I've often heard people say that God answers our prayers in one of three ways: yes, no, or not yet. That either He grants us our hearts desire, blocks what we desire, or simply tells us to wait. Perhaps He chooses to answer with a "no" or "not yet" because what we desire may not be beneficial to us. Or maybe we're not mentally or physically prepared to receive what we're asking for just yet. There can be numerous reasons as to why God might cause us wait on something He knows we truly desire, but one thing we can be sure of is that there is purpose in the wait. The Bible tells us that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). So, although you may not see or understand the purpose behind it during, one day you will. And when that day comes you'll be thankful for the waiting period. There is purpose in the wait Have you ever showed up for a scheduled appointment and still had to wait? Or maybe while on the ...

Shoot Your Shot

Image
Sooo I've personally adopted this new motto... "Shoot your shot all 2018!"              No I'm not just talking about sliding into someone's dm's...but if you hear that and immediately think of messaging someone you like in the hopes that they will respond accordingly then we're on the right track. . . . so stay with me here.

Find Joy In The Journey

Image
Today while at a restaurant for lunch I spotted this picture hanging up on the wall. I stopped and gazed at it long enough to read what it said, then I quickly made a note of it in my phone for later...for right now.

Time Heals All Wounds

Image
Everyday I look at this scar that has been etched into my body and I'm reminded of the pain. The pain I endured before it, the pain during it, and the pain after it. I still remember it all as if it just happened yesterday. And although simply seeing it brings back a flood of memories, one thing it (thankfully) does not do is cause me to physically experience that type of pain again. "Time heals all wounds"
